Marutta’s Sacrifice and Agni’s Embassy (मरुत्त-यज्ञे दूतत्वम्)
इन्द्र बवाच कुतो दुःखं मानसं देहजं वा पाण्ड्विंवर्णश्व॒ कुतस्त्वमद्य । आचक्ष्व मे ब्राह्मण यावदेतान् निहन्मि सर्वास्तव दुःखकर्तुन्
indra uvāca—kuto duḥkhaṁ mānasaṁ dehajaṁ vā pāṇḍu-varṇaś ca kutas tvam adya? ācakṣva me brāhmaṇa yāvad etān nihannmi sarvān tava duḥkha-kartṝn.
ഇന്ദ്രൻ പറഞ്ഞു— ഹേ ബ്രാഹ്മണശ്രേഷ്ഠാ! ഈ ദുഃഖം നിനക്കു മനസ്സിലേതോ ശരീരത്തിലേതോ— എവിടെ നിന്നാണ് വന്നത്? ഇന്നെന്തുകൊണ്ട് നീ മങ്ങിപ്പോയി വിഷണ്ണനായി ഇരിക്കുന്നു? എനിക്കു പറയുക; നിനക്കു ദുഃഖം വരുത്തിയ എല്ലാവരെയും ഞാൻ ഉടൻ തന്നെ നശിപ്പിക്കും.
