Vajradatta Confronts Dhanaṃjaya at Prāgjyotiṣa
इति श्रीमहाभारते आश्वमेधिके पर्वणि अनुगीतापर्वणि त्रिगर्तपरा भवे चतुःसप्ततितमो<ध्याय:
iti śrīmahābhārate āśvamedhike parvaṇi anugītāparvaṇi trigartaparā bhave catuḥsaptatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ
ഇങ്ങനെ ശ്രീമഹാഭാരതത്തിലെ ആശ്വമേധികപർവ്വത്തിലെ അനുഗീതാപർവ്വത്തിൽ ത്രിഗർത്തരുടെ പരാഭവത്തെ സംബന്ധിക്കുന്ന എഴുപത്തിനാലാം അധ്യായം സമാപ്തമായി.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
This line is not a doctrinal verse but a colophon. Its function is to close the chapter and locate it within the Āśvamedhika Parvan’s Anugītā section, which broadly emphasizes post-war ethical reflection, restraint, and dharma-oriented understanding.
The narrator (Vaiśaṃpāyana) signals the end of the seventy-fourth chapter, identifying it as connected with the Trigartas and indicating that the chapter’s subject has concluded and the text will proceed to what follows.
