वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights that in war, outcomes such as the fall of major warriors are not random but arise through discernible causes—strategy, timing, and moral consequence—implying that adharma (here marked by 'pāpa') draws inevitable retribution.
The narrator states that the proper methods by which key Kaurava-side warriors—Karṇa, Jayadratha (Saindhava), and Bhūriśravas—were brought down became clearly evident, pointing to the unfolding of decisive tactics and turning points in the conflict.
