Marutta–Indra Rivalry and Bṛhaspati’s Priestly Refusal (मरुत्तेन्द्रस्पर्धा—बृहस्पतेः पौरोहित्यनिश्चयः)
व्यास उवाच असुराश्नैव देवाश्नव दक्षस्यासन् प्रजापते: । अपत्यं बहुलं तात संस्पर्धन्त परस्परम्,व्यासजीने कहा--तात! प्रजापति दक्षके देवता और असुर नामक बहुत-सी संतानें हैं, जो आपसमें स्पर्धा रखती हैं
vyāsa uvāca | asurāś caiva devāś caiva dakṣasyāsan prajāpateḥ | apatyaṁ bahulaṁ tāta saṁspardhanta parasparam ||
വ്യാസൻ പറഞ്ഞു—താത! പ്രജാപതി ദക്ഷന് ദേവന്മാരും അസുരന്മാരും ഉൾപ്പെടെ അനേകം സന്തതികൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവർ പരസ്പരം മത്സരത്തിലായിരുന്നു.
