एवमुक्तस्तु पार्थेन कृष्णद्वैपायनस्तदा । मुहूर्तमनुसंचिन्त्य धर्मराजानमब्रवीत्,कुन्तीकुमार युधिष्ठिरके इस प्रकार कहनेपर श्रीकृष्णद्वैपायन व्यासने दो घड़ीतक सोच-विचारकर धर्मराजसे कहा--
evam uktas tu pārthena kṛṣṇadvaipāyanas tadā | muhūrtam anusañcintya dharmarājānam abravīt ||
പാർത്ഥൻ ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ കൃഷ്ണദ്വൈപായന വ്യാസൻ കുറച്ചുനേരം ആലോചിച്ചു; പിന്നെ ധർമ്മരാജ യുദ്ധിഷ്ഠിരനോട് പറഞ്ഞു।
युधिषछ्िर उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical discipline of pausing to reflect before advising or deciding. Vyāsa’s brief contemplation models dharmic counsel: speech should arise from considered judgment, not haste.
After Arjuna addresses Vyāsa, Vyāsa takes a moment to think and then begins speaking to Yudhiṣṭhira (Dharmarāja). The scene sets up a serious instruction or guidance to the king.
