यः स पञ्चसु भूतेषु प्राणापाने व्यवस्थित: । स गच्छत्यूर्ध्वगो वायु: कृच्छान्मुक्त्वा शरीरिण:

yaḥ sa pañcasu bhūteṣu prāṇāpāne vyavasthitaḥ | sa gacchaty ūrdhvago vāyuḥ kṛcchrān muktvā śarīriṇaḥ ||

പഞ്ചഭൂതങ്ങളിൽ പ്രാണ–അപാനമായി നിലകൊള്ളുന്ന അതേ വായു ഊർധ്വഗതിയായി ഉയർന്ന്, ദേഹധാരിയെ മഹാകഷ്ടത്തോടെ വിട്ടുപോകുന്നു; പോകുമ്പോൾ ശരീരമെന്ന ഭൂതസമുച്ചയത്തിന്റെ ഐക്യം തകർത്തുകൊണ്ടാണ് അതിന്റെ പ്രസ്ഥാനം.
