अश्रुत्वा हितकामस्य विदुरस्य महात्मन: । वाक्यानि सुमहार्थानि परितप्यामि दुर्मति:
Transliteration
aśrutvā hitakāmasya vidurasya mahātmanaḥ | vākyāni sumahārthāni paritapyāmi durmatiḥ ||
Translation
എന്റെ ക്ഷേമം മാത്രം ആഗ്രഹിച്ച മഹാത്മാവായ വിദുരന്റെ അതിഗംഭീരാർത്ഥമുള്ള വചനങ്ങൾ കേൾക്കാതെ വിട്ടതിനാൽ ഇന്ന് ഞാൻ—ദുർബുദ്ധിയായ ധൃതരാഷ്ട്രൻ—പശ്ചാത്താപത്തിൽ ദഹിക്കുന്നു।
