धृतराष्ट्रस्य वनप्रस्थानानुज्ञा | Permission for Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Forest-Retirement

तानागतानभिप्रेक्ष्य समस्तं च सुहृज्जनम्‌ । ब्राह्मणांश्र महीपाल नानादेशसमागतान्‌,अवश्यमेव वक्तव्यमिति कृत्वा ब्रवीमि व: । एष न्यासो मया दत्त: सर्वेषां वो युधिष्ठिर:

tān āgatān abhiprekṣya samastaṃ ca suhṛjjanam | brāhmaṇāṃś ca mahīpāla nānādeśa-samāgatān | avaśyam eva vaktavyam iti kṛtvā bravīmi vaḥ | eṣa nyāso mayā dattaḥ sarveṣāṃ vo yudhiṣṭhiraḥ ||

വന്നെത്തിയ എല്ലാവരെയും—സകല സുഹൃജ്ജനങ്ങളെയും, പല ദേശങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നെത്തിയ ബ്രാഹ്മണരെയും—കണ്ട് രാജാവ് “ഇത് നിർബന്ധമായി പറയണം” എന്ന് നിശ്ചയിച്ചു. അതിനാൽ അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു—“ഈ ന്യാസം, ഈ ഏല്പിച്ച ഉത്തരവാദിത്വം, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെല്ലാവരിലും—യുധിഷ്ഠിരനിലും—നിക്ഷേപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.”
