धृतराष्ट्रस्य पश्चात्तापः तथा वनप्रस्थानानुज्ञा | Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Remorse and Request for Forest-Retirement
'प्रातःकाल उठकर (नित्य नियमसे निवृत्त होनेके बाद) पहले तुम्हें उन लोगोंसे मिलना चाहिये, जो तुम्हारे खर्च-बर्चके कामपर नियुक्त हों। उसके बाद आभूषण पहनने या भोजन करनेके कामपर ध्यान देना चाहिये ।।
vaiśampāyana uvāca | prātaḥkāle utthāya (nityaniyamān nirvṛtya) pūrvaṃ tvayā teṣāṃ saha saṃgamo kartavyaḥ ye tava vyayavyayakārye niyuktāḥ | tataḥ alaṅkāradhāraṇe bhojane vā manaḥ kartavyam || paśyethāśva tato yodhān sadā tvaṃ pratiharṣayan | dūtānāṃ ca carāṇāṃ ca pradoṣas te sadā bhavet ||
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—പ്രഭാതത്തിൽ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് നിത്യകർമ്മങ്ങൾ പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയ ശേഷം ആദ്യം ചെലവുകളും ഗൃഹവ്യയവും കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യാൻ നിയോഗിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരെ കാണണം. തുടർന്ന് അലങ്കാരവും ആഹാരവും പോലുള്ള കാര്യങ്ങൾ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കണം. പിന്നെ എപ്പോഴും അവരെ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് യോദ്ധാക്കളെ കണ്ടു അവരുടെ ഉത്സാഹം ഉയർത്തണം. ദൂതന്മാരെയും ചാരന്മാരെയും കാണുന്നതിനായി സന്ധ്യാസമയമാണ് നിനക്കു സദാ ഏറ്റവും അനുയോജ്യം.
