धृतराष्ट्रदर्शनाय पाण्डवानां प्रयाणम् | The Pāṇḍavas Prepare to Visit Dhṛtarāṣṭra

एक समयकी बात है, परम क्रोधी तपस्वी ब्राह्मण दुर्वासा मेरे पिताके यहाँ भिक्षाके लिये आये थे। मैंने उन्हें अपने द्वारा की गयी सेवाओंसे संतुष्ट कर लिया ।।

Transliteration

vaiśampāyana uvāca | ekaṃ samayaṃ paramakrodhī tapasvī brāhmaṇo durvāsā mama pituḥ gṛhe bhikṣārthaṃ samāgataḥ | mayā svasevayā sa tuṣṭaḥ kṛtaḥ || śaucena tv āgasas tyāgaiḥ śuddhena manasā tathā | kopasthāneṣv api mahatsv akupyan na kadācana ||

Translation

വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു— ഒരിക്കൽ അത്യന്തം ക്രോധശീലനായ തപസ്വി ബ്രാഹ്മണൻ ദുര്വാസൻ എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ഭിക്ഷയ്ക്കായി വന്നു. ഞാൻ ചെയ്ത സേവനത്താൽ അദ്ദേഹം തൃപ്തനായി. ശൗചാചാരം പാലിച്ച്, അപരാധം ഒഴിവാക്കി, ശുദ്ധമനസ്സോടെ ഞാൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ആരാധിച്ചു; മഹത്തായ കോപകാരണങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടായാലും ഞാൻ ഒരിക്കലും അദ്ദേഹത്തോട് കോപിച്ചില്ല.
