Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Public Request for Consent to Enter the Forest (अनुज्ञा-प्रार्थना)

अफ्--शक+ चतुर्दशो 5 ध्याय: राजा धृतराष्ट्रके द्वारा मृत व्यक्तियोंके लिये श्राद्ध एवं विशाल दान-यज्ञका अनुष्ठान वैशम्पायन उवाच विदुरेणैवमुक्तस्तु धृतराष्ट्रो जनाधिप: । प्रीतिमानभवद्‌ राजन्‌ राज्ञो जिष्णोश्व॒ कर्मणि,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--महाराज जनमेजय! विदुरके ऐसा कहनेपर राजा धूृतराष्ट्र युधिष्ठिर और अर्जुनके कार्यसे बहुत प्रसन्न हुए

vaiśampāyana uvāca | vidureṇaivam uktas tu dhṛtarāṣṭro janādhipaḥ | prītimān abhavad rājan rājño jiṣṇoś ca karmaṇi ||

വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ മഹാരാജ ജനമേജയ! വിദുരൻ ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ജനാധിപനായ ധൃതരാഷ്ട്രൻ രാജാവ് യുധിഷ്ഠിരന്റെയും ജിഷ്ണു (അർജുനൻ) യുടെയും പ്രവർത്തികളിൽ അത്യന്തം സന്തുഷ്ടനായി.
