Puṣkara-Śapatha Itihāsa (Agastya–Indra Dispute at the Tīrthas) | पुष्कर-शपथ-आख्यानम्
यातुधान्युवाच यास्मि सास्म्यनुयोगो मे न कर्तव्य: कथंचन । आरक्षिणीं मां पद्मिन्या वित्त सर्वे तपोधना:,यातुधानी बोली--तपस्वियो! मैं जो कोई भी होऊँ, तुम्हें मेरे विषयमें पूछ-ताछ करनेका किसी प्रकार कोई अधिकार नहीं है। तुम इतना ही जान लो कि मैं इस सरोवरका संरक्षण करनेवाली हूँ
yātudhānī uvāca—yā asmi sā asmi; anuyogo me na kartavyaḥ kathaṃcana | ārakṣiṇīṃ māṃ padminyā vitta sarve tapodhanāḥ ||
യാതുധാനി പറഞ്ഞു—“ഞാൻ ആരായാലും അതുതന്നെ; എന്നെക്കുറിച്ച് ഏതുവിധത്തിലും ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യാനുള്ള അവകാശം നിങ്ങൾക്കില്ല. തപോധനരായ തപസ്വികളേ, ഇത്രമാത്രം അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളുക—ഈ താമരനിറഞ്ഞ തടാകത്തിന്റെ രക്ഷകയായി ഞാൻ നിയുക്തയാണ്.”
