पुष्टिरायुस्तथा वीर्य श्रीक्षैव पितृभक्तित: । अत: जो इस बातको जानते हैं

Transliteration

puṣṭir āyus tathā vīryaṁ śrīś caiva pitṛbhaktitaḥ |

Translation

ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—പിതൃഭക്തിയാൽ തന്നെയാണ് പുഷ്ടി, ആയുസ്സ്, വീര്യം, ശ്രീ (സമ്പത്ത്) എന്നിവ ലഭിക്കുന്നത്. ഈ തത്ത്വം അറിയുന്നവർ യാത്രാകാലത്തും ഏകാഗ്രചിത്തത്തോടെ പിതൃഗണങ്ങൾക്ക് നിത്യം ജലം അർപ്പിക്കുന്നു; കൂടാതെ കൃഷ്ണപക്ഷത്തിലെ അമാവാസി തിഥിയിൽ പ്രത്യേകമായി ശ്രാദ്ധം നിർബന്ധമായി ചെയ്യണം.
