Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa
Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
अग्निरुवाच मदड्गलेभ्य: प्रसूतानि मदाश्रयकृतानि च । ममैव तान्यपत्यानि वरुणो हवशात्मक:
agnir uvāca mad-aṅgebhyaḥ prasūtāni mad-āśraya-kṛtāni ca | mamaiva tāny apatyāni varuṇo havśātmakaḥ ||
അഗ്നി പറഞ്ഞു—ഈ സന്തതികൾ എന്റെ തന്നെ അവയവങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നാണ് ജനിച്ചത്; സൃഷ്ടികർത്താവ് അവരെ എന്റെ ആശ്രയത്തിൽ നിർത്തി സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു. അതിനാൽ ഈ മൂവരും എന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ; ഹവി-സ്വരൂപനായ വരുണന് ഇവരിൽ അവകാശമില്ല.
