Gavāṃ Māhātmya — Go-dāna, Yajña-ādhāra, and Goloka
Brahmā–Indra–Surabhi Itihāsa
समानवत्सां धूम्रां तु थेनुं दत््वा पयस्विनीम् । सुव्रतां वस्त्रसंवीतां याम्यलोके महीयते
samānavatsāṃ dhūmrāṃ tu dhenuṃ dattvā payasvinīm | suvratāṃ vastrasaṃvītāṃ yāmyaloke mahīyate ||
വസിഷ്ഠൻ പറഞ്ഞു— പാൽ തരുന്ന സുലക്ഷണയായ ധൂമ്രവർണ്ണ ഗാവിനെ, അതേ വർണ്ണമുള്ള കിടാവോടുകൂടി, വസ്ത്രം പൊതിഞ്ഞ് ദാനം ചെയ്യുന്ന പുരുഷൻ യമലോകത്തിൽ ആദരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു।
