Brāhmaṇa-vandana: Criteria for Veneration, Disciplined Speech, and Protective Kingship (अनुशासनपर्व, अध्याय ८)
पश्यामि लोकानमलान् शुचीन् ब्राह्मणयायिन: । तेषु मे तात गन्तव्यमह्वाय च चिराय च,तात! ब्राह्मणकी सेवामें रहनेवाले पुरुषको जिन पवित्र और निर्मल लोकोंकी प्राप्ति होती है, उन्हें मैं यहींसे देखता हूँ। अब शीघ्र मुझे चिरकालके लिये उन्हीं लोकोंमें जाना है
paśyāmi lokān amalān śucīn brāhmaṇayāyinaḥ | teṣu me tāta gantavyam āhvāya ca cirāya ca ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—മകനേ! ബ്രാഹ്മണസേവയിൽ നിലകൊള്ളുന്നവരും ബ്രാഹ്മണപഥം അനുസരിക്കുന്നവരും പ്രാപിക്കുന്ന കളങ്കരഹിതവും ശുദ്ധവുമായ ലോകങ്ങളെ ഞാൻ ഇവിടെ നിന്നുതന്നെ കാണുന്നു. ഇനി ഉടൻ തന്നെ എനിക്ക് വിളി വരും; ദീർഘകാലത്തേക്ക് ഞാൻ ആ ലോകങ്ങളിലേക്കുതന്നെ പോകേണ്ടതാണ്.
