Go-apahāra (Cattle Theft), Go-dāna (Cow-Gift), and Suvarṇa-dakṣiṇā (Gold Fee): Karmic Consequence and Purificatory Merit
कृतं च भरते सा गौर्मम पुत्रमपस्तनम् | न सा शक््या मया दातुमित्युक्त्वा स जगाम ह
kṛtaṃ ca bharate sā gaur mama putram apastanam | na sā śakyā mayā dātuṃ ity uktvā sa jagāma ha |
“ഹേ ഭരതാ! ഈ പശു എന്റെ മാതാവില്ലാത്ത കുഞ്ഞിനെ തന്റെ പാലാൽ ദിനംപ്രതി പോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; അതിനാൽ ഞാൻ ഇതിനെ നൽകാൻ കഴിയില്ല.” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് അവൻ പശുവിനെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ട് പോയി.
