Bhūmi-dānasya Māhātmya
The Pre-eminence of Land-Gift
तस्मात् तांस्ते प्रवक्ष्यामि तडागे ये गुणा: स्मृता: । या च तत्र फलावाप्तिऋषिभि: समुदाहता,अतः ऋषियोंने तालाब बनवानेसे जिन फलोंकी प्राप्ति बतलायी है तथा तालाबसे जो लाभ होते हैं, उन सबको मैं तुम्हें बताऊँगा
tasmāt tāṁs te pravakṣyāmi taḍāge ye guṇāḥ smṛtāḥ | yā ca tatra phalāvāptir ṛṣibhiḥ samudāhṛtā ||
അതുകൊണ്ട്, തടാകത്തെ സംബന്ധിച്ച് സ്മൃതികളിൽ പറയപ്പെട്ട ഗുണങ്ങളും, അവിടെനിന്നുള്ള ഫലപ്രാപ്തി ഋഷിമാർ പ്രസ്താവിച്ചതുപോലെ—അവയെല്ലാം ഞാൻ നിന്നോട് പറയും.
