अफ्-४-णका+ पञ्चपञज्चाशत्तमो<् ध्याय: च्यवनका कुशिकके पूछनेपर उनके घरमें अपने निवासका कारण बताना और उन्हें वरदान देना च्यवन उवाच वरश्न गृह्मतां मत्तो यश्न ते संशयो हृदि । त॑ प्रब्रूहि नरश्रेष्ठ सर्व सम्पादयामि ते

Cyavana uvāca: varaś ca gṛhyatāṁ matto yaś ca te saṁśayo hṛdi | taṁ prabrūhi naraśreṣṭha sarvaṁ sampādayāmi te ||

ച്യവനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—നരശ്രേഷ്ഠാ, എന്നിൽ നിന്ന് ഒരു വരം തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുക; നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ സംശയവും പറയുക. നിന്റെ എല്ലാ ലക്ഷ്യങ്ങളും ഞാൻ സഫലമാക്കും।
