प्रीतो5स्मि तव राजेन्द्र वरश्न प्रतिगृह्मताम् । “राजन! अब मुझे विदा दो। मैं जैसे आया था, वैसे ही लौट जाऊँगा। राजेन्द्र! मैं तुमपर बहुत प्रसन्न हूँ; अतः तुम कोई वर माँगो”

ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—രാജേന്ദ്രാ, ഞാൻ നിന്നിൽ അത്യന്തം പ്രസന്നനാണ്; അതുകൊണ്ട് ഒരു വരം സ്വീകരിക്ക. ഇനി എന്നെ വിടവാങ്ങാൻ അനുവദിക്ക; ഞാൻ വന്നതുപോലെ തന്നെ മടങ്ങിപ്പോകും।
