This line functions as a colophon: it signals that the teaching unit belongs to the Dāna-dharma (ethics of giving) framework. The ethical emphasis is that narratives like Cyavana’s episode are presented as vehicles for instruction in righteous conduct, especially generosity and its proper place within dharma.
The narrative itself is not advanced here; rather, the text formally closes the chapter, stating that the fifty-first adhyāya—centered on the Cyavana episode—has been completed within the Anuśāsana Parva’s Dāna-dharma section.
