स्वभावश्चैव नारीणां नराणामिह दूषणम् | अत्यर्थ न प्रसज्जन्ते प्रमदासु विपक्चित:,इस जगतमें मनुष्योंको कलंकित कर देना नारियोंका स्वभाव है; अतः विवेकी पुरुष युवती स्त्रियोंमें अधिक आसक्त नहीं होते हैं
svabhāvaś caiva nārīṇāṁ narāṇām iha dūṣaṇam | atyarthaṁ na prasajjante pramadāsu vipakṣitaḥ ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഈ ലോകത്ത് പുരുഷന്മാരെ അപകീർത്തിയിലാക്കുന്നത് സ്ത്രീകളുടെ സ്വഭാവമാണ്; അതുകൊണ്ട് വിവേകികൾ യുവതികളോടു അത്യധികം ആസക്തരാകുന്നില്ല.
