Anuśāsana-parva 38

अशव्यं स्प्रष्टमाकाशमचाल्यो हिमवान्‌ गिरि: | अधार्या सेतुना गड्ढा दुर्जया ब्राह्मणा भुवि

bhīṣma uvāca | aśavyaṃ spraṣṭum ākāśam acālyo himavān giriḥ | adhāryā setunā gaḍḍhā durjayā brāhmaṇā bhuvi ||

ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ആകാശത്തെ സ്പർശിക്കുക അസാധ്യം; ഹിമവാൻ പർവ്വതത്തെ കുലുക്കുക അസാധ്യം; അണക്കെട്ട് കെട്ടി ആഴമുള്ള കുഴി/പ്രവാഹം തടയുന്നതും അസാധ്യം. അതുപോലെ ഈ ഭൂമിയിൽ ബ്രാഹ്മണർ സർവ്വഥാ അജേയരാണ്; അവരെ കീഴടക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കാതെ ധർമ്മാനുസാരം ആദരിച്ച് സംരക്ഷിക്കണം.
