Indra–Mataṅga Saṃvāda: On the rarity and responsibilities of Brāhmaṇya (इन्द्र-मतङ्ग संवादः)

द्विजाते: कस्यचित्‌ तात तुल्यवर्ण: सुतस्त्वभूत्‌ । मतज़्े नाम नाम्ना वै सर्वे: समुदितो गुणै:

Dvijāteḥ kasyacit tāta tulyavarṇaḥ sutas tv abhūt | Mataṅga iti nāmnā vai sarvaiḥ samudito guṇaiḥ ||

മകനേ, ഒരു ദ്വിജന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ഒരു പുത്രൻ ജനിച്ചു; അവനെ പിതാവിനോടു തുല്യമായ വർണ്ണക്കാരനായി കണക്കാക്കി. അവന്റെ പേര് മതംഗൻ; അവൻ സർവ്വഗുണസമ്പന്നനായിരുന്നു.
