Brāhmaṇya-प्रश्नः — The Inquiry into Attaining Brāhmaṇya

Mataṅga–Gardabhī Itihāsa

idaṁ medhyam idaṁ puṇyam idaṁ svargyam anuttamam | idaṁ rahasyaṁ vedānām āplāvyaṁ pāvanaṁ tathā

Educational Q&A

The speaker extols a particular instruction or observance as supremely purifying and merit-generating, capable of leading to heaven, and as an inner ‘secret’ aligned with the Vedas—emphasizing ethical-spiritual cleansing rather than mere external ritual.

Within Anuśāsana Parva’s didactic setting, Ajadriya is praising the value of a teaching being transmitted, presenting it as Veda-consistent, deeply purifying, and spiritually efficacious, thereby urging the listener to accept and practice it.
