युधिछिर उवाच अनेकान्तं बहुद्वारं धर्ममाहुर्मनीषिण: । किंनिमित्तं भवेदत्र तन्मे ब्रूहि पितामह,युधिष्ठिरने पूछा--पितामह! विद्वानोंका कहना है कि धर्मके साधन और फल अनेक प्रकारके हैं। पात्रके कौन-से गुण उसकी दानपात्रतामें कारण होते हैं? यह मुझे बताइये

Yudhiṣṭhira uvāca: anekāntaṁ bahudvāraṁ dharmam āhur manīṣiṇaḥ | kiṁ-nimittaṁ bhaved atra tan me brūhi pitāmaha ||

യുധിഷ്ഠിരൻ പറഞ്ഞു—പിതാമഹാ! ധർമ്മം അനേകം വശങ്ങളുള്ളതും അനേകം വാതിലുകളിലൂടെ സമീപിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതുമാണെന്ന് മनीഷികൾ പറയുന്നു. ഈ വിഷയത്തിൽ നിർണ്ണായക കാരണമെന്ത്? അത് എനിക്ക് പറഞ്ഞുതരുക.
