भीष्य उवाच सा तदा तेन विप्रेण तथा तेन निवर्तिता । स्वतन्त्रास्मीत्युवाचर्षि न धर्मच्छलमस्ति ते
bhīṣma uvāca sā tadā tena vipreṇa tathā tena nivartitā | svatantrāsmīty uvācārṣi na dharmacchalam asti te ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—രാജാവേ, ആ ബ്രഹ്മർഷി അവളെ ഇങ്ങനെ പിന്തിരിപ്പിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവൾ പറഞ്ഞു: “ഞാൻ സ്വതന്ത്രയാണ്; ഋഷേ, എന്നോടു സംഗമിച്ചാലും നിങ്ങളുടെ ധർമ്മത്തിന് വഞ്ചനയോ ലംഘനമോ ഉണ്ടാകില്ല.”
