etad rahasyaṁ paramaṁ brahmaṇo hṛdi saṁsthitam | brahmā provāca śakrāya śakraḥ provāca mṛtyave |
ഈ പരമരഹസ്യം ബ്രഹ്മാവിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ സ്ഥാപിതമാണ്. ബ്രഹ്മാവ് അത് ശക്രനോട് (ഇന്ദ്രനോട്) പറഞ്ഞു; ശക്രൻ അത് മൃത്യുവിന് ഉപദേശിച്ചു.
वायुदेव उवाच
That the doctrine being introduced is a “supreme secret” preserved in a sacred lineage; its authority and efficacy are grounded in careful transmission from Brahmā to Indra to Mṛtyu, implying it should be approached with reverence, restraint, and ethical responsibility.
Vāyudeva identifies the origin and chain of custody of an esoteric hymn/teaching: it abides in Brahmā’s heart, was taught by Brahmā to Indra, and then passed on by Indra to Mṛtyu—setting up the legitimacy and sanctity of what follows.
