घृतं माल्यं च गन्धांश्व॒ क्षौमाणि च युधिष्ठिर: । चन्दनागुरुमुख्यानि तथा कालीयकान्यपि,कुन्तीनन्दन युधिष्ठिरने भीष्मजीका दाह-संस्कार करनेके लिये पहले ही घृत, माल्य, गन्ध, रेशमी वस्त्र, चन्दन, अगुरु, काला चन्दन, श्रेष्ठ पुरुषके धारण करनेयोग्य मालाएँ तथा नाना प्रकारके रत्न भेज दिये थे

candanāgurumukhyāni tathā kālīyakāny api ||
കുന്തീനന്ദനനായ യുധിഷ്ഠിരൻ ഭീഷ്മന്റെ ദാഹസംസ്കാരത്തിനായി മുൻകൂട്ടി തന്നെ നെയ്യ്, മാലകൾ, സുഗന്ധദ്രവ്യങ്ങൾ, ക്ഷൗമവസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ, ചന്ദനം, അഗരു, കൂടാതെ കാളീയകം (കറുത്ത ചന്ദനലേപം) എന്നിവയും അയച്ചിരുന്നു.
