Shloka 17

ऋष्विम्भिब्रह्मकल्पैश्व भ्रातृभि: सह धर्मज: । आसाटद्य शरतल्पस्थमृषिभि: परिवारितम्‌

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

ṛṣvimbhi brahmakalpaiś ca bhrātṛbhiḥ saha dharmajaḥ |

āsādya śaratālpastham ṛṣibhiḥ parivāritam |

tad-anantaraṃ kuru-nandanaḥ dharmaputraḥ dharmarājaḥ yudhiṣṭhiraḥ brahmajīva sama-tejasvī ṛtvigbhiḥ bhrātṛbhiḥ tathā ṛṣibhiś ca ghṛtaḥ bāṇa-śayyāyāṃ śayānaṃ bharata-śreṣṭhaṃ gaṅgāputraṃ bhīṣmam etad uvāca ||

അതിനുശേഷം ധർമ്മപുത്രനായ ധർമ്മരാജ യുദ്ധിഷ്ഠിരൻ സഹോദരന്മാരോടൊപ്പം, ബ്രഹ്മസമമായ പാവിത്ര്യമുള്ള ഋത്വിക്കുകളും ഋഷികളും ചുറ്റിനിന്നുകൊണ്ട്, ശരശയ്യയിൽ ശയിച്ചിരുന്ന ഭാരതശ്രേഷ്ഠനായ ഗംഗാപുത്ര ഭീഷ്മന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തി. പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും സഹോദരന്മാരുടെയും മുനിമാരുടെയും മദ്ധ്യേ ബ്രഹ്മനെപ്പോലെ ദീപ്തനായ യുദ്ധിഷ്ഠിരൻ ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു.
