Shloka 49

स्वाध्याये भोजने चैव दक्षिणं पाणिमुद्धरेत्‌ | यच्छेद्वाड्मनसी नित्यमिन्द्रियाणि तथैव च,स्वाध्याय और भोजनके समय दाहिना हाथ उठाना चाहिये तथा मन, वाणी और इन्द्रियोंको सदा अपने अधीन रखना चहिये

svādhyāye bhojane caiva dakṣiṇaṃ pāṇim uddharet | yacched vāk-manasī nityam indriyāṇi tathaiva ca ||

ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു— സ്വാധ്യായത്തിന്റെയും ഭോജനത്തിന്റെയും സമയത്ത് വലങ്കൈ യഥാവിധി ഉപയോഗിക്കണം. കൂടാതെ വാക്കിനെയും മനസ്സിനെയും നിത്യവും നിയന്ത്രിക്കണം; ഇന്ദ്രിയങ്ങളെയും അതുപോലെ വശത്തിൽ വെക്കണം.
