ब्राह्मणप्रमुखं सौम्यं न मे5त्रास्ति विचारणा
brāhmaṇa-pramukhaṃ saumyaṃ na me ’trāsti vicāraṇā | brāhmaṇeṣu śānta-bhāvasya prādhānyam | etad-viṣaye mama na vicāraṇā | brāhmaṇa-pūjanād āyuḥ kīrtiḥ yaśaḥ balaṃ ca prāpyate | sarve lokāḥ lokeśvarāś ca brāhmaṇa-pūjakāḥ santi ||
വായു പറഞ്ഞു— “ഹേ സൗമ്യാ, ബ്രാഹ്മണൻ തന്നെയാണ് അഗ്രഗണ്യൻ—ഇതിൽ എനിക്ക് യാതൊരു സംശയവും ഇല്ല. ബ്രാഹ്മണന്മാരിൽ ശാന്തസ്വഭാവമാണ് പ്രധാന്യം; അതിനാൽ ഇതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് കൂടുതൽ വിചാരിക്കേണ്ടതില്ല. ബ്രാഹ്മണപൂജയാൽ ആയുസ്സ്, കീർത്തി, യശസ്, ബലം എന്നിവ ലഭിക്കുന്നു. സർവ്വ ലോകങ്ങളും, ലോകേശ്വരന്മാരും വരെ ബ്രാഹ്മണന്മാരുടെ ഉപാസകരാണ്.”
