“ഉതഥ്യന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ വിട്ടയക്കുക. എന്തുകൊണ്ട് നീ അവളെ അപഹരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു? നിങ്ങൾ ലോകപാലകരായി നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടവർ; ലോകക്രമം തകർക്കുന്നവർ അല്ല. സോമൻ തന്റെ പുത്രിയെ എനിക്ക് നൽകി; അവൾ എന്റെ ധർമ്മപത്നിയാണ്. അങ്ങനെ ഇരിക്കെ ഇന്ന് നീ അവളെ എങ്ങനെ അപഹരിച്ചു?” ഉതഥ്യന്റെ വചനപ്രകാരം നാരദൻ ജലാധിപൻ വരുണനോട് ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു—“ഉതഥ്യന്റെ സ്ത്രീയെ വിട്ടുകൊടുക്കുക; എന്തിന് നിങ്ങൾ അവളെ അപഹരിച്ചു?”
