अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)

नूनमद्य कृतार्था: सम नून॑ प्राप्ता: सतां गतिम्‌ । यां गतिं प्रार्थयन्तीह ज्ञाननिर्मलबुद्धयः

nūnam adya kṛtārthāḥ sma nūnaṁ prāptāḥ satāṁ gatim | yāṁ gatiṁ prārthayantīha jñāna-nirmala-buddhayaḥ ||

വായു പറഞ്ഞു— നിശ്ചയമായി ഇന്ന് ഞങ്ങൾ കൃതാർത്ഥരായി; നിശ്ചയമായി സത്പുരുഷന്മാർ പ്രാപിക്കുന്ന ആ ഗതി ഞങ്ങൾ കൈവരിച്ചു. ജ്ഞാനത്താൽ നിർമ്മലമായ ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള ജ്ഞാനികൾ ഈ ലോകത്തിൽ പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുന്ന ആ ഗതി തന്നെയാണ് ഞങ്ങൾ ഉറപ്പോടെ പ്രാപിച്ചത്; അതിനാൽ ഇന്ന് ഞങ്ങൾ സത്യമായും സിദ്ധരായി.
