धर्मनिन्दा–धर्मोपासनाफलम् तथा साध्वाचारलक्षणम्

संहिताध्यायिना भाव्य॑ गृहे वै गृहमेधिना । नित्यं स्वाध्यायिना भाव्यं न चाध्ययनजीविना

Transliteration

saṃhitādhyāyinā bhāvyaṃ gṛhe vai gṛhamedhinā | nityaṃ svādhyāyinā bhāvyaṃ na ca adhyayanajīvinā ||

Translation

മഹേശ്വരൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഗൃഹത്തിൽ വസിക്കുന്ന ഗൃഹസ്ഥൻ സംഹിതാധ്യയനത്തിൽ നിഷ്ഠയുള്ളവനും ശാസ്ത്രീയ സ്വാധ്യായത്തിൽ ശാസനബദ്ധനുമായിരിക്കണം. അവൻ നിത്യവും സ്വാധ്യായത്തിൽ രമിക്കട്ടെ; എന്നാൽ പഠനത്തെ ഉപജീവനമാത്രമാക്കരുത്.
