सर्वभूतदया धर्मो न चैकग्रामवासिता । आशापाशविमोक्षश्न शस्यते मोक्षकाड्क्षिणाम्‌

Transliteration

sarvabhūtadayā dharmo na caikagrāmavāsitā | āśāpāśavimokṣaś ca śasyate mokṣakāṅkṣiṇām ||

Translation

മഹേശ്വരൻ പറഞ്ഞു—മോക്ഷം ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവർക്കു സർവ്വഭൂതങ്ങളോടുള്ള കരുണ തന്നെയാണ് ധർമ്മം. അവർ ഒരേ ഗ്രാമത്തിലോ ഒരേ വാസസ്ഥലത്തിലോ ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടു നിൽക്കരുത്; ആശയും തൃഷ്ണയും എന്ന പാശങ്ങൾ മുറിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കണം. മുമുക്ഷുക്കൾക്കു ഇതാണ് പ്രശംസിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ചര്യ.
