इन्द्रेण च पुरा व्र॒ज॑ क्षिप्तं श्रीकाड्क्षिणा मम । दग्ध्वा कण्ठं तु तद्‌ यातं तेन श्रीकण्ठता मम,पूर्वकालमें इन्द्रने मेरी श्री प्राप्त करनेकी इच्छासे मुझपर वज्रका प्रहार किया था। वह वजच्र मेरा कण्ठ दग्ध करके चला गया। इससे मेरी श्रीकण्ठ नामसे ख्याति हुई

Translation

പൂർവകാലത്ത് ഇന്ദ്രൻ എന്റെ ശ്രീലാഭം ആഗ്രഹിച്ച് എന്നിലേക്കു വജ്രം എറിഞ്ഞു. ആ വജ്രം എന്റെ കണ്ഠം ദഹിപ്പിച്ച് കടന്നുപോയി; അതുകൊണ്ടാണ് ഞാൻ ‘ശ്രീകണ്ഠൻ’ എന്ന പേരിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധനായത്.
