स शूद्र: संशिततपा: सत्यवादी जितेन्द्रिय: । शुश्रूषुरतिथिं प्राप्त तप: संचिनुते महत्
sa śūdraḥ saṃśitatapāḥ satyavādī jitendriyaḥ | śuśrūṣur atithiṃ prāptaṃ tapaḥ saṃcinute mahat ||
തപസ്സിൽ നിയന്ത്രിതനും സത്യവാനും ഇന്ദ്രിയജയമുള്ളവനുമായ ആ ശൂദ്രൻ, വീട്ടിലെത്തിയ അതിഥിയെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ച് മഹത്തായ തപസ്സിന്റെ പുണ്യം സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നു. അവനിൽ സേവാരൂപ ധർമ്മം തന്നെയാണ് കഠിനതപസ്സെന്ന് പറയപ്പെടുന്നത്।
