अत्-#-रा- जा अष्टत्रिशदाधिकशततमो< ध्याय: पाँच प्रकारके दानोंका वर्णन युधिछिर उवाच श्रुतं ते भवतस्तात सत्यव्रतपराक्रम । दानधर्मेण महता ये प्राप्तास्त्रिदिवं नूपा:

Yudhiṣṭhira uvāca—śrutaṃ te bhavatastāta satyavrataparākrama | dānadharmeṇa mahatā ye prāptās tridivaṃ nṛpāḥ ||

യുധിഷ്ഠിരൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ താതാ, സത്യവ്രതനും പരാക്രമസമ്പന്നനും ആയവനേ! ദാനധർമ്മത്തിൽ നിന്നുയരുന്ന മഹാപുണ്യത്തിന്റെ പ്രഭാവത്താൽ ത്രിദിവം (സ്വർഗ്ഗലോകം) പ്രാപിച്ച രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വിവരണങ്ങൾ എല്ലാം ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ മുഖത്തിൽ നിന്നു കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
