Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
अर्द्धमानाश्च विबुधा ग्रहेण सुबलीयसा । शिवदत्तवरान् जष्नुरसुरेन्द्रान सुरा भूशम्
arddhamānāś ca vibudhā graheṇa subalīyasā | śivadattavarān jaṣṇur asurendrān surā bhūśam ||
വാസുദേവൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അത്യന്തം ബലവാനായ ഗ്രഹൻ ദേവന്മാരെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ, ദേവന്മാർ അമർത്ഥപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നാലും ശിവൻ നൽകിയ വരം ലഭിച്ച അസുരേന്ദ്രന്മാരെ പ്രഹരിച്ച് അടക്കി; ഇങ്ങനെ അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ദീർഘകാലം യുദ്ധം തുടർന്നു।
