Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
छागशार्दूलरूपश्न अनेकमृगरूपधृक् । अण्डजानां च दिव्यानां वपुर्धारयते भव:,वे बकरे और शार्दूलके रूपमें भी उपलब्ध होते हैं। नाना प्रकारके मृगों--वन्य पशुओंके भी रूप धारण करते हैं तथा भगवान् शिव दिव्य पक्षियोंके भी रूप धारण कर लेते हैं
chāgaśārdūlarūpaś ca anekamṛgarūpadhṛk | aṇḍajānāṃ ca divyānāṃ vapur dhārayate bhavaḥ ||
വാസുദേവൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഭവൻ (ശിവൻ) ആടായും ശാർദൂലൻ (കടുവ) ആയും പ്രത്യക്ഷനാകുന്നു. പലവിധ മൃഗങ്ങളുടെ—വന്യജീവികളുടെ—രൂപം ധരിക്കുന്നു; ദിവ്യപക്ഷികളുടെ ദേഹവും സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നു.
