Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
अम्बोवाच दुर्विज्ञेयो महादेवो दुराधारो दुरन्तक: । दुराबाधश्र दुर्ग्राह्मो दुर्दुश्यो हकृतात्मभि:
ambovāca durvijñeyo mahādevo durādhāro durantakaḥ | durābādhaś ca durgrāhyo durdarśyo hy akṛtātmabhiḥ ||
അംബ പറഞ്ഞു—“മഹാദേവനെ അറിയുക അത്യന്തം ദുഷ്കരം. മനസ്സിൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ധരിക്കലും പ്രയാസം; അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പ്രാപിക്കുന്ന വഴി ഭയങ്കര തടസ്സങ്ങളാൽ നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. ആത്മസംയമമില്ലാത്തവർക്ക് അദ്ദേഹം അഗമ്യൻ—ഗ്രഹിക്കുവാൻ ദുഷ്കരം, ദർശനവും ദുർലഭം.”
