अपि क्रतुशतैरिष्टवा क्षयं गच्छति तद्धवि: । नतु क्षीयन्ति ते धर्मा: श्रद्दधानै: प्रयोजिता:

Transliteration

api kratuśatair iṣṭvā kṣayaṃ gacchati taddhaviḥ | na tu kṣīyanti te dharmāḥ śraddadhānaiḥ prayojitāḥ ||

Translation

നൂറുകണക്കിന് യാഗങ്ങൾ ചെയ്താലും ആ ഹവിസ്സിന്റെ ഫലം ഒടുവിൽ ക്ഷയിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ ആചരിക്കുന്ന ധർമ്മങ്ങൾ ക്ഷയിക്കുകയില്ല—വിശ്വാസിയാൽ നടപ്പാക്കിയാൽ അവ സ്ഥിരമായി നിലനിൽക്കും.
