अपो गच्छति यो ह्वात्र शशिनं होष प्रीणयेत्‌ । शशी प्रीणयते देवान्‌ पितृश्चैव महामते

apo gacchati yo hvātra śaśinaṃ hoṣa prīṇayet | śaśī prīṇayate devān pitṝṃś caiva mahāmate ||

ദേവദൂതൻ പറഞ്ഞു: “ഹേ മഹാമതേ! ഇവിടെ ആരെങ്കിലും ജലം അർപ്പിച്ച് ചന്ദ്രനെ തൃപ്തിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ—ഇത് അറിഞ്ഞുകൊൾക—അവൻ ദേവന്മാരെയും പിതൃകളെയും കൂടി തൃപ്തിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.”
