“किसीकी चुगली नहीं खाती थी। चुगली करना मेरे मनको बिलकुल नहीं भाता था। मैं घरका दरवाजा छोड़कर अन्यत्र नहीं खड़ी होती और देरतक किसीसे बात नहीं करती थी

kasyāpi cughalī na khāditavatī | cughalī kartum mama manasi bilkula na rocate sma | ahaṁ gṛhasya dvāraṁ tyaktvā anyatra na tiṣṭhāmi sma, na ca dīrghakālaṁ kasyacid saha sambhāṣaṇaṁ karomi sma |

ഞാൻ ആരെയും കുറിച്ച് ചാടിപ്പറയുകയോ പരദൂഷണം ചെയ്യുകയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല; അത്തരം ശീലം എന്റെ മനസ്സിന് തീർത്തും അസഹ്യമായിരുന്നു. വീട്ടുവാതിൽ വിട്ട് മറ്റെവിടെയും നിന്നിരുന്നില്ല; ആരോടും ദീർഘമായി സംസാരിച്ചുമില്ല.
