Conduct of the Virtuous Wife
तपस्विनो धृतिमत: प्रमोद: समुपागत: । एतत् पृच्छामि ते विद्वन्नभिवाद्य प्रणम्य च,उन्हें मुस्कराते देख मैत्रेयजीने व्यासजीसे पूछा--'धर्मात्मन्! विद्वन्! मैं आपको अभिवादन- एवं प्रणाम करके यह पूछता हूँ कि आप अभी-अभी जो मुस्कराये हैं, उसका क्या कारण है? आपको हँसी कैसे आयी? आप तो तपस्वी और धैर्यवान् हैं। आपको कैसे सहसा उल्लास हो आया? यह मुझे बताइये
bhīṣma uvāca | tapasvino dhṛtimataḥ pramodaḥ samupāgataḥ | etat pṛcchāmi te vidvann abhivādya praṇamya ca |
“നീ തപസ്വിയും ധൃതിമാനുമാകെ; എന്നിട്ടും അപ്രതീക്ഷിതമായി ആനന്ദം നിന്നിൽ ഉദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. അതിനാൽ, ഹേ പണ്ഡിതാ, നിനക്കു അഭിവാദ്യം ചെയ്ത് നമസ്കരിച്ചു ഞാൻ ചോദിക്കുന്നു—ഈ പുഞ്ചിരിയുടെ കാരണം എന്ത്?”
