विमुक्त: सर्वपापेभ्य: सर्वकामैर्महीयते । विशिष्टतां ज्ञातिषु च लभते नात्र संशय:,राजन्‌! जो ऋषियोंद्वारा सम्मानित एवं पवित्र इस मांस-भक्षणके त्यागके प्रकरणको पढ़ता अथवा बारंबार सुनता है, वह सब पापोंसे मुक्त हो सम्पूर्ण मनोवांछित भोगोंद्वारा सम्मानित होता है और अपने सजातीय बन्धुओंमें विशिष्ट स्थान प्राप्त कर लेता है, इसमें संशय नहीं है

bhīṣma uvāca | vimuktaḥ sarvapāpebhyaḥ sarvakāmair mahīyate | viśiṣṭatāṃ jñātiṣu ca labhate nātra saṃśayaḥ ||

അവൻ സർവ്വപാപങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും വിമുക്തനായി, എല്ലാ അഭിലഷിത ഭോഗങ്ങളാലും ആദരിക്കപ്പെടും; സ്വന്തം ജ്ഞാതികളിൽ വിശിഷ്ടസ്ഥാനവും പ്രാപിക്കും—ഇതിൽ സംശയമില്ല।
