(य इमं शृणुयान्नित्यं यश्चापि परिकीर्तयेत् स शुभानू प्राप्तुते लोकान् सदाचारव्रतान्नूप ।।
ya imaṁ śṛṇuyān nityaṁ yaś cāpi parikīrtayet | sa śubhān prāpnute lokān sadācāra-vratān nṛpa ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ നരേശ്വരാ! ആരെങ്കിലും ഈ വൃത്താന്തം നിത്യവും ശ്രവിക്കുകയും അതിനെ ഉച്ചരിച്ച് പാരായണം ചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്താൽ, സദാചാരവ്രതങ്ങളുടെ ശക്തിയാൽ അവൻ ശുഭ ലോകങ്ങളെ പ്രാപിക്കും।
