Praise of Ācāra as the Basis of Longevity, Fame, and Prosperity
न हीदृशमनायुष्यं लोके किंचन विद्यते । यादृशं पुरुषस्येह परदारोपसेवनम्
na hīdṛśam anāyuṣyaṁ loke kiṁcana vidyate | yādṛśaṁ puruṣasyeha paradāropasevanam ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു— ഈ ലോകത്തിൽ പരസ്ത്രീസംഗമം പോലെ ആയുസ്സിനെ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു മറ്റൊന്നുമില്ല. ഇവിടെ പുരുഷനു പരദാരോപസേവനം പോലെ ഉറപ്പായി ജീവകാലം ചുരുക്കുന്ന മറ്റൊരു കർമ്മവും ഇല്ല.
