आप्तोयमिषु नियतमेकैकस्मिन्‌ दशाददम्‌ । गृष्टीनां क्षीरदात्रीणां रोहिणीनां शतानि च

āpto ’yam iṣu niyatam ekaikasmin daśādadam | gṛṣṭīnāṃ kṣīradātrīṇāṃ rohiṇīnāṃ śatāni ca ||

ഭഗീരഥൻ പറഞ്ഞു—യജ്ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് നിശ്ചിതമായ ദീക്ഷാവ്രതങ്ങൾ ക്രമമായി സ്വീകരിച്ച്, ഓരോ പ്രാവശ്യവും ഓരോ ബ്രാഹ്മണനും ആദ്യമായി കിടാവിട്ടു പാൽ തരുന്ന പത്ത് പത്ത് പശുക്കളെയും, കൂടാതെ രോഹിണീജാതിയിലെ പശുക്കളെ നൂറുകളായും ദാനം ചെയ്തു।
